General

FR File Manager is a centralised file manager for installed modules, templates, language and media files. It includes a built-in code editor and a basic image editor. This tool allows you to easily manage your media folder and edit images for use on your website.

To customise the look of your website, we recommend using our FR Website Styler module. This editor features a built-in preview, so you can see the changes as you make them.

Modular structure

FR File Manager has a modular structure, consisting of three components:

  • FR File Manager: this includes a file explorer, recycle bin, audit log and settings. In the file explorer, you can open folders, within which you can add, rename and delete files and folders. You can upload files, open images for editing and open certain file types for editing.
  • FR Code Editor: you can use the code editor to edit certain types of files. The supported formats are: php, css, js, txt, htt, twig, md, json, html, htm, xml, yml, yaml, ini, sql, csv and log.
  • FR Image Editor: you can use the image editor to edit certain types of image files. The supported formats are: jpeg, bmp, gif, png, webp and avif. In the image editor, you can upload images and make basic adjustments straight away.

Toolbar

Buttons:

  • Explorer opens the file browser, allowing you to navigate through folders and perform actions on files and folders.
  • Trash opens the trash view, which also includes a restore function.
  • Logs opens the log view.
  • Settings opens the settings view, which includes the retention policy and other settings.

Hoofdvenster

File Manager - file browser

Using the file browser you can edit, rename, delete, create, and upload files and folders. These actions are not always permitted; for example, you cannot delete a module's root folder.

Deleted files are moved to the trash. If desired, a deleted file can be restored, provided this is done in time (within the retention period).

Safe Mode: This option disables file and folder operations. Only an administrator can enable this setting.

For specific file types, there are two editors available:

  • Code Editor: This allows you to edit the content of files. This applies to files with the following extensions: php, css, js, txt, htt, twig, md, json, html, htm, xml, yml, yaml, ini, sql, csv, log
  • Image Editor: This allows you to edit images. This applies to the following image file types: JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG, WebP, and AVIF.

Create a file / folder
